More cards...

Here are some more cards I have made recently...

This one is a fresco paint background, some washi tape and changito monkey stamp

This one is some washi tape, a crown stamp, a craftwork cards greeting and a spray of Dylusions
This one was for my sister whose birthday it is today....everybody say Happy Birthday Jemima!! I had a splodgeaway stenscape and it it totally ace....I made a background with spiced marmalade and scattered straw distress inks and then I just used black soot like mr splodgeaway does in the videos it turned out pretty well I did get a few smudges but not too bad for someone whose normally very messy.
Finally here are some new stamps I had Paper Artsy JOFY - birdies......I stamped them on some Dylusioned paper and cut them out and I stamped the bird house on the c'oredinations and cut that out and sanded it. Then I found some patterned paper tore that out stuck it down edged it with Peacock feathers distress ink and then stamped on the tree in walnut stain added some glitter and finally the greeting in black archival.

Final alpha challenge....

Phew the alpha challenge is complete - here's the link to the Craft Barn

The final two letters were X and I.....

Now there were about 6 words beginning with X, one of them being the letter X itself so not much choice so in the end I went with Xylophone. There was already a some ink on the page from Y on the next page so I also added some blue paint. I cut out rectangles and glued them down and then made a beater from a pipe cleaner and some card. I stamped a few music notes as well.

Then for I, I chose a word I found reading the dictionary and that is Ichthyology the scientific study of fish - picture has a little too much reflection in it but the background is distress stain in blue and some silver round the edge and then I stamped some fish on some paper I had already inked and then cut them out and stuck them down and drew on some lines and measurements etc.
Finally I finished off the front cover by painting it with gesso, then I made use of a few things I had for Christmas one was the cricut mini so I cut out some letters for A2Z and inked over them and I used some gilding wax around the edge, also some distress stain and then I painted the whole thing with gold shimmer mod podge and sprinkled on some glitter before it dried.

Wow and that's the whole year done!!

Merry Christmas

Apricot Loaf cake

Here is an Apricot loaf cake I made.....I has some when we were out and about and thought it was really nice so I found a recipe and had a go...it was lovely if I do say so myself.....apricot flavoured icing as well!

The Class of 2013

Here are the remaining Christmas cards I've made from this year...plus also a card I made for a Christening as well....

Happy Birthday Lee!

Well here is the annual unveiling of Lee's birthday cake hehe!!

This year Lee wanted a Bus Pirate for his birthday......what's a Bus Pirate you say?! Well don't ask because I don't know either.....:) Anyhoo based on this theme I decided to make Pirate Bus for the cake and here is the result.

The cake underneath was supposed to be red velvet although it's not really red at all I think I needed gel food colouring but anyway it's basically chocolate cake and chocolate butter cream, and I've not really done too much cake constructing like this and so I was pretty pleased to build up four layers with a little bit of tweaking here and there and then I covered it all with chocolate butter cream.

Then I covered it with the red icing which I was pleased to get done I was expecting to get in a massive mess....the corners are a bit messy but it mostly worked OK. I'd already cut out a little space for the wheels to go as well -so I added some icing wheels and windows and I used a cutter for the skull and crossbones. I made some chocolate coins although they set a bit weird but I'm sure they'll taste fine, and then the other little chocolates I bought already made. Finally I had candles and flags from the pirate party we had a few years ago. Hope it tastes yummy!

Christmas Village eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!!!

Lee has given me a Christmas present early.......it's a Christmas village so that I get time to build it in time for Christmas......good job because I think it might take me until then hehe!! SO EXCITED!!

I've already managed to use distress ink on it and it lights up and it comes with sparkly snow. That's SPARKLY SNOW, and I'm going to add in a couple of little trees I've already got as well.....so far I've done a little bit of the post office but have to take a break to watch Strictly!

Sheep

Well what d'ya know it's another letter in the alpha challenge over at the Craft Barn not many left now and this time it is letter S. So I was discussing it with my mom and we decided on sheep, so here is my page.

Basically I just really wanted to stick cotton wool to my page hehehe! Anyway so I found some sheep I'd cut out on the cricut and used them as a base and stuck them down, and then I manually cut out some heads. I stamped a few background hills and the ground with some Hobby Art scene it stamps and coloured them a little with mowed lawn distress and slight bit of walnut stain. Then finally I stuck on some cotton wool :)

The Magic of Christmas

Here is a little something I have made......I have entitled it the Magic of Christmas. I have wanted to create something like this for ages, I keep seeing things in magazines and on blogs and I really wanted to get a configurations box. Well I treated myself to a small one and here is a little box of Christmas joy that I created.

I started by painting the main box in a light green colour and then using flitter glu and gilding flakes around the edge. I got some Tim Holtz trees as well and I dyed this one green, I think this on was part distress stain and part Dylusions and then I added some glitter to the tree and the tiny piece of tinsel. I put cotton wool in one of the tiny bottles and sprinkled glitter on that as well, and I put little gold starts in the other bottle. I painted the two smaller boxes with gold gloss paint that I just got yesterday and already love, so it may now be used on everything hehe! Then I positioned the boxes in the larger box and stuck down the tree and then I added loads of glitters and stars and glitter glue. I also painted some glitter paint around the edge. I then found the star border that I had cut our on the cricut last year and never used, I painted that with glitter paint as well and added a few more stars and some glitter. Basically it was an excuse for me to cover everything in glitter:)

Queueing is Quintessentially British

Hello........another letter in the alpha challenge......no way......and this time it is Q! Well there are actually a lot of interesting Q words I feel I learnt a lot reading through the dictionary earlier, but not many lend themselves to being depicted in the challenge.......but in the end I decided on queue, and managed to sneak in quintessential as well!

I made a background of Dylusions, I really love that pink and yellow combo, then I picked out some characters from my stamps and made them queue! I stamped them in purple archival and coloured a few bits with a gel pen as well, and drew on the little sign. Also I just got some new gold gloss paint yesterday which I love and so couldn't resist putting some around the edge, although I nearly blocked out the definition by accident hehe!!

Card

Here's a card I forgot to post.....my auntie got me some stamps they really do look like crayons when stamped hehe! I also made a background with various inks and some texture paste through stencils and I cut out a rectangle of that and then added a craftwork cards greeting.

Empty nest

Boo no bird tonight.....been back every evening until today....now it's just an empty bird box....oh well maybe he'll be back tomorrow.....

Saturday 19 October 2013

Gilding flakes are ace!!!

Hehe erm well they are.......here are a couple of cards I made with my new favourite technique you don't want to stand to close to me in case I try and gild you mwahahahahahaa!!

Anyway I got the Indigo Blu starter kit with gilding flakes and it it brilliant, here is a card I made with an Indigo Blu stamp and mega flakes and I also used some free hand in the corners with a quickie glue pen. Also I got some new dies and I really love those as well especially the holly wreath, which I used on some Coredinations, and finally I added a Craftwork cards greeting in the centre.

I used the same stamp on this one ( sorry the lighting is a bit funny on this photo) only with a different colour gilding flake and then I used some of the silver around the edge as well. I stamped the Get Well Soon with an alphabet set and archival ink. Oh and the background is just distress inks.

Labyrinth

Letter L has rolled around and I chose Labyrinth........I just drew whatever came into my mind although as it was in the middle of the book it was pretty tricky because of all the other things on the other pages making it all wobbly......and then to fit in with the rules for this one I made a little window that the definition is hidden behind. I started off not liking it very much but in the end once it was all finished it didn't turn out too badly.

I created a background with Dylusions, distress stains etc. then I drew on the labyrinth with various markers and pens and highlighted some areas with a white gel pen. I tore the window out of a page where I'd been playing with my new gilding flakes and then drew on the bars to look like a window, I did think about cutting a hole in the page and having it look through to the next page but the pages are just to flimsy in the dictionary so I stuck this on instead.

More from Bird house cam

Hello, here are a couple more videos from the Great Tit in the bird house....he or she has been arriving about 6 and leaving at about 7.20 in the morning, and today even came back for mini lunch time nap hehe assuming of course it's always the same bird!

If you look on one of these a spider crawls by and disturbs him!!

Hopefully this link will work as well for more videos on my You tube channel

Monday 7 October 2013

Card

Here is a birthday card I made for one of my nephews.

I stamped parts from a robot stamp set and coloured them with distress ink and a water brush, and stamped a number 2 as well.

Then I used the water brush again with distress ink to make the coloured stripes and then stamped on the greeting and letters.

Saturday 5 October 2013

Great Tit returns again

Well bird cam has gone a little AWOL at the moment, waiting for reinforcements to fix it properly although there doesn't seem to be too many birds about at the moment anyway.....but we did get this footage of a great tit in the bird house again the other day......

Card

Here is another Christmas card I made......with little robins.......I had to try really hard not to distress the whole thing hehe and kept it all white instead!!! I stamped some holly in the background and put some glitter on it, and I stamped and coloured in the robins with promarkers and added some gold ribbon.

Jigsaw

Another letter rolled round on the Craft Barn's alpha challenge, only just got around to posting it though.

The letter is J and I couldn't find anything to pick, until eventually I decided on Jigsaw and here is the result.

My mom gave me a ink duster brush which I used with distress inks on the background. Then I drew on some jigsaw pieces and the letters, I added a little gold ink around the edge but you can't really see it in the photos.
