Goldfinches

There were 5 Goldfinches in the garden all at the same time today, didn't get them all on camera though.....but here's a little clip.....

Here's a still as well...

I've Got My Eye on You!

Here's a Zentangle eye that I've been working on for ages which I've finally finished.

I think I would have preferred it all black and white in the end but I'd already started adding colour before I changed my mind - several Zentangle books later (from which much inspiration was gathered :)) I didn't end where I started if that makes any sense. It's mostly drawn with a Pilot drawing pen, the coloured bits are mostly pigma micron pens and I added shading with charcoal pencils. I decided to get some blending stumps which make such a difference from smudging with my fingers hehe!

Cards

Here are some cards I've made recently...

All my cards lately seem to end up the same colour theme.....I think it's because I've had a whole series of male cards to make. Anyway this on is using silk art paints and then Tim holtz little balloon stamp. Then I used a posca pen to write happy birthday and outlined it with a wink of Stella glitter pen. I edged the background paper with distress ink and then stamped on some spots and added a touch of gilding wax.

This one I found a piece of paper that had remnants of dylusions on the background, I then used a stencil and some gelatos to create to sunshine effect, then I sploshed on a little blue colour bloom spray, added a little distress ink to get rid of most of the white paper and finally added a craftwork cards greeting,

Music - Ode to a Nightingale

Just got this one done in time........the latest craft barn words are passion or music, as usual I spent a while looking for something to inspire me.....and eventually settled on Ode to a Nightingale by John Keats. Here's my page....

I used three distress stains for the background. The branch is a JoFY stamp from Paper Artsy and a printed off a picture of a nightingale and gloss mod podged that on. I used a posca pen for the letters and outlined them with a brown wink of stella pen. Finally I stamped on some music notes.

Card

Here's a card I made for my niece.....I mixed various UTEE's in the melting pot, poured them and stamped in this stampotique stamp. I then added some gilding was as well. I glued it on to the card and drew on the greeting and coloured circles and added a little distress ink in the corners.

Mouse drops by for dinner.....

Here's a little video of a mouse finding his way to one of the feeders....

Photobombing birds

Well one of the birds (probably the big fat pigeons....we all know it was them) landed on the camera and knocked it slightly off position but it meant that we got some close up head shots of the birds landing on the arm the camera is attached to.....

Unique

It's another quotes and lyrics challenge and this time I've done mine straight away....the words were either unique or fame. I thought oh no here we go again time to spend ages looking for a poem but luckily I found an Edward Lear limerick that inspired me that contains the word unique. I kind of went for a Picasso style......

I just got some paint pens.......I've been wanting some for ages.....these ones a posca pens......I think they will get a lot of use. Firstly I created the background with Dylusions and distress stains. Then I painted on the eyes using the posca pens. Then I used a fine white posca pen to write on the limerick. Finally I added some silks acrylic glaze.....mostly because I just got those as well and wanted to mess with them, you can just see the shimmer at the bottom of the page.
