Bird Cam!

So we've set up Bird Cam's in the back garden....as you do! And actually when I say we I mean he who presides over all that is technological :)

So anyway here is one of the videos we've got so far of a Blue Tit on the feeder........pretty cool I think....

We've got some others too that I will post at some point probably.....

The other camera is down on the floor, at the moment all that is picking up is passing cats in the night...!

Letter H

It's alpha challenge time again - here's the link Alpha Challenge H

So what word did I choose? Well I deliberated with haphazard, and even heliocentric but I decided on Headline.....and here is the result...

Quite simply I just gessoed the pages and then wrote on in a fine line Sharpie......then added a little antique linen distress ink to age the pages a bit......

Happy Valentine's Day

This year I decided to throw the whole red theme out the window and came up with this card instead..

I created the background with Dylusions sprays and then stamped some Tim Holtz stamps in archival ink (blue) and the red heart was a free stamp from Craft Stamper.......and then I put two Paper Artsy stamps together to create the greeting! Oh and there's a few swipes of one of the metallic distress stains as well.....the silvery one I forget the exact name now but it adds a nice metallic finish anyway.....then as usual a little walnut stain round the edge and then a touch more (I think it was Salty Ocean) round the edge of the card itself. My new technique is to do all my inky messiness on paper instead of card seems to work out much better with less curling etc.

The Art of Zentangle!

Well there was me thinking that Zentangle was just about a little doodling here and there.....how wrong was I?!

I had a book for my birthday and here is my first creation.....credit for the inspiration and patterns goes to Suzanne McNeill/ Design Originals

Here is just the line drawing
And here it is after I coloured it in - to colour it in I used craft nibs and distress inks and needless to say it took ages but it is really addictive!

Element

The new letter in the Craft Barn's alpha challenge this week is E.

I decided to choose element - as it fits in with the elements pages I have been doing and gave me an excuse to use my Crafty Individuals bottles of poison set......seeing as a lot of elements are poisonous....

Here is the link to the E challenge page: Craft Barn E challenge
I started off by using paint dabber's peach and lemon for the background.......and I printed off a tiny periodic table and sprayed it with lemon Dylusions and glued that on to the page. Then I stamped various poison bottles etc.  from the Crafty Individuals set and highlighted some of them using a craft nib and distress inks and then I distressed around the edges....
