Inspired by Dyan Reavely, Kate Crane et al I thought I'd have a go at an art journal......well I don't know if it is going to be a journal.....but I bought a sketch book and I'm going to fill it with whatever I fancy....and here was the first page I made last night....
Sometimes you just can't beat black on a colourful background. It's a background created using pastels and then acrylic paint spirals and black archival stamped at the bottom using Hobby Art stamps.....and I finally remembered the usefulness of a white gel pen and used it to write the saying which was just bouncing about in my head...

At last a day of no rain.........and time to be out in the garden woooooooooooohoooooooooooo!!
So instead of inky fingers I got soily fingers hehe!
And in the process finally planted out some plants that were starting to take over the house.....French beans and morning glory flowers and baby sweetcorn too; and did a little repotting too. I even braved a couple of my tomatoes outside although I wait to see how well they do before putting the others out too....
I even had time for a little crafting too but I will have to post that one another time....
And to top it all off I made some flapjacks as well.....although I decided to completely ignore the recipe as I didn't have enough oats and I added marshmallows, fudge pieces and choc chips........ and so consequently they turned out rather chewy indeed but still taste nice, even if they take a while to devour a piece!

Ooh what a crafty day.......just been crafting away whilst watching Barbara Gray demonstrating on C&C.....not doing the lesson but just being inspired. I bought myself a pack of pastels which takes me back to doing GCSE art hehe! Here is my first creation with them...lovely pink:) Then some stamping with black archival and I mounted it on some corrugated card that I stole from a parcel that arrived and a bit more stamping and some pastels on the far background too....
This was a card I made the other week.....using some ribbons and buttons that came free with a magazine.....and a Warren image from Craftwork cards coloured with Promarkers and some acrylic paint to create the background.....ooh and a swipe of distress stains around the edge.
