A couple of cards

Well I don't think I've already posted these two cards....so here goes....

For this one I made a Dylusions background tore it out into a rectangle and stamped on the stamps from the Tim Holtz tiny things set. I used some metallic paint to divide it into six and I wrote on happy birthday using a fine liner pen. I then stuck it on the card and used some black soot distress stain around the edge. Oh and I nearly forgot I added some frantage embossing powders as well.

On this next one I used a new stencil/mask/template whatever you want to call it, I dyed some texture paste with Dylusions I think it must have been the turquoise one and then used a sponge brush to apply it to the template, then once dry I used some Peacock feathers around the edge, basically I have a square of cut and dry foam with peacock feathers on it and I just keep grabbing it to use as it's next to me, so at the moment peacock feathers is ending up on everything almost!! I tore it out and stuck it on the card and I think it must have been walnut stain around the edge. I cut out a piece of adhesive ribbon and stuck that down and then I added a Craftwork cards greeting and a couple of pearls.

Off to the beach!

Here is the next letter in the Craft Barn's alpha challenge - letter B. For once I decided to base my choice on stamps I have - because I had just bought one of the Ahoy There sets from Papermania and also I found Warren on the beach from Craftwork cards as well - so my word is Beach.

Here is the link - letter B

So I used a paint dabber in the background for the sand colour and stamped on the sign over the definition and coloured it blue with distress peacock feathers, and the ink for the stamp is archival blue. I also stamped warren and some shells and the gone to the beach alternating between archival sepia and blue. I added a touch of colour to warren with some marker pens.

Then I went round the edge with pearlescent glue and glitter to give a sandy feel and added a few spots of gold perfect pearls as well.

Return of the squirrel

That naughty squirrel has been back.....his or her dexterity is however, amazing!!

Father's Day

So in celebration of all that is caravan I made my dad a caravan survival kit and matching caravan card hehe!!

This was the label for the "survival kit" which was made with the Zoophabet stamp set by Penny Black and coloured with Promarkers - I remembered for once to limit my pallet rather than just going crazy; and as usual a little distressing around the edge.

This was a little cross stitch kit from Mouseloft, haven't done any cross stitch in a while so makes a change! Also I stamped on the Happy Father's Day only I've lost my apostrophe S and so I had to hand write it on d'oh!

Uranium

Well what to do for the letter U - this is the next letter in the Craft Barn's alpha challenge

Lee said Uranium and the first thing I thought of was Homer Simpson working in the nuclear power plant - not sure what that says about my mind but anyway here's what I came up with.....

I printed off a picture of Homer mod podged it down.....then I coloured in the remainder of the page with oil pastels, I love how bright they are which fits in with the cartoon picture. Then another opportunity to use my Crafty Individuals poison set which I love. That was that, quite simple but effective I think.

Bird erm Squirrel Cam

So this week on  Bird  Squirrel Cam a cheeky visitor appeared.

I read that once they find food they just keep coming back for more so I was thinking what type of squirrel protection I might have to put into operation but we haven't seen it on the camera again so maybe it was just a one off visit.....but who knows!

Zentangle page

Here is a page of Zentangle I created....I started it a few weeks ago and although it's the kind of thing where you can just keep adding to it; I've decided to call it finished.

I was given extra inspiration to finish it off as I bought a new Zentangle book with some new pattern inspirations in.....those are mostly the ones at the top of the page, and the rest is mostly just what came into my head. I wanted the splodge to look like I'd just dropped black ink on to the page......I would have just used black ink but I haven't got any so I just drew one instead. About half way through I decided I wanted it to be colourful and so I reverted to the trusty Dylusions sprays which are being used just as much as distress inks lately.....I just love how I get colourful hands for a while after using them hehe!!

Little canvas

I made a little present for Lee.....again I used the Spotz Botz set to stamp out a robot on to a Dylusions, perfect pearls and swirly paint background and then I cut out the image and used a fine liner to fill in any parts I hadn't quite cut properly.

On the canvas itself I used a stencil and some texture paste which got slightly blue when it mixed with some ink on my craft mat, I left that to dry and then I sprayed on some more Dylusions, and I painted over the 3D area Paper Artsy metallic glaze which gives a lovely shiny effect that you can't really see in the photo. I glued on some micro beads and added a touch more ink around the edge. Although it didn't really want to dry properly probably because I'd made the surface shiny from the glaze so I probably should have used Staz on rather than distress but I've left it as it was for now.

Finally I drew on a few lines for the ground and then glued on the robot to make the finished piece.

New goodies!

Well I got some new goodies and so I've been testing them out over the weekend in between making the most of the sunshine!

Here are a couple of cards I made....

The first one is made using Spotz Botz from Stampendous where you can make up your own robots from the different parts in the set. I made a Dylusions background first and then stamped on the robots and then coloured them a little with distress inks. I tore them out and I also added a Craftwork cards greeting mounted on some Core'dinations. I went around the edge with some black distress stain.

The second card again I made a Dylusions background and then stamped on the images using purple archival. The main flower image was in a grab bag of random stamps from Chocolate Baroque and so I don't know which company it is made by and the Happy Birthday I think that is Stampendous. I coloured the flower with some red ink that was a free gift from Choc Baroque so thought I'd test it out to see what it was like and I also used some distress inks to colour the rest. Then I used some distress stickles on the centre of the flower. The background paper is Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe.
