Christmas things...

Here are some things I can post now Christmas is over.

I painted and decorated the Noel frame (Paper Artsy fresco paints are lovely!) and some tiny little bells that I've been wanting a use for since I got them....

And I made an album for my sister and brother in law......based on Centerparcs! Here are some of the pages....I made the backgrounds with a variety of inks and paints in a green/brown theme and then I chose a theme for each page and cut out the photos and added some words etc.

Let It Snow!

Well here is this years Christmas cake.......a plethora of snowflakes.......I bought some new snowflake cutters for the job and they worked brilliantly! Best of all I got to cover it all in edible glitter......lovely :)

Another card

Here is a card I made.....I created a Dylusions background.....I started out intending to make something pink but ended all all orange and red instead.....but I was really pleased with the colours I ended up with. I then just stamped on some random stamps and then used a lid to apply some glitter and then used Distress inks to create the Happy Birthday in matching colours and stamped on the greeting. Obviously couldn't finish the greeting off without some Walnut Stain distress ink round the edge and a bit of ribbon on the bottom!

Nitrogen

Finally finished Nitrogen for my elements pages. Had a bit of a leakage of pink from the next page......but once it dried it looked OK! It's just fun spraying Dylusions inks pretty much everywhere.....!! The photo has a bit of reflection because I used some metallic glaze.....but this one is just a bit crazy over all!

Happy Birthday Lee!

Here is this year's birthday cake for Lee. I am hoping it is obvious that it is a circuit board, and it turned out way better than I thought.......very pleased with the edible metallic paints I bought and also made good use of some liquorice allsorts, dolly mixtures and strawberry laces......whatever will I do with the rest of the packets hehe! Oh and the cake underneath is a Madeira cake yum yum!!

More Christmas Cards!

Here are my final lot of Christmas cards.......with the robin on the mushrooms being my favourite card this year. The robin is a Little Claire stamp, the mushrooms are dylusions coloured with distress inks, perfect pearls and some glitter, and the snowflakes are a Tim Holtz stamp embossed with white embossing powder and the robin was coloured with distress inks too....using a cut n dry nib; and little bit of fake snowy stuff that I forget the name of.

The penguin card is using distress stains and inks, I forget which set those stamps are from, and I went round the edge with perfect pearls.

The next one I created a background with gold paint and I can't remember if it was metallic glaze of shimmer mod podge, then I stamped the snowflakes and added some ribbon and cut the greeting out using a nestability.

The final one was simply a shape cut out on the cricut and some background paper, another snowflake with glitter on and a greeting.

Bye Bye!

Well we said goodbye to our manager at work today......here is the leaving card I made......it is the biggest card I have ever made.......bit of a challenge working out how to fill the space. Luckily distress inks save the day as usual.....and I cut out some letters on the cricut and stamped a few cats.....I think those ones a Lindsay Mason stamps.....

Christmas cards.....

Here are some more Christmas cards....I really love all the ones I've done with my new Cricut cartridge, although sometimes it can be fiddly to cut all the parts out and stick them together, the finished articles look really cute! The background paper is from Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet collection.
For this one I was trying to go for the keep it simple but I struggle where to stop hehe! The tree is from a set of trees I think it might be Creative Expressions not quite sure tho..... I stamped the Hero Arts greeting on acetate and drew on the baubles on the tree and coloured with distress stickles.

I bought some pre cut out trees and used them here. Coloured with silver paint, a kind of brass type paint that I swooshed a bit to get a pattern and then crackle paint. Background paper is Graphic 45 again and the greeting is from Craftwork cards.

This one is a lamp post stamp from Tim Holtz SA and the houses are from the Hobby Art scene it coastal set. Made them look snowy with paint and gesso and used a bit of picket fence distress stain and some more paint for the snow on the ground. Stamped the hero arts greeting with gold paint and put some glitter round the edge....

Sunday 25 November 2012

Yo!

Here are a couple more Christmas cards......Graphic 45 rules!!!!!!!!

The greetings and the mice are done on the Cricut........

And a mosaic coaster that my sister got me and I've finally got around to doing....

Graphic 45 papers

Saw these papers at the craft show we went to at Kettering the other week and we thought they were amazing......to be honest they are so lovely I would like to paper the walls with them....

Here is a card I have made with the Christmas papers.......the stamp is a Hobby Art greeting and the background snowflake was the free stamp form this months Craft Stamper mag.

A bit late for Halloween but....

I made some Halloween cakes......I tried the same last year and found they got stuck in the moulds but I bought some cake release spray and that works much better...although they still required a bit of shaking to get out......and I made some choccie cookies as well..... I've also got some jellies in the fridge as we speak using the same Halloween moulds.....I know Halloween has passed but I wanted to make some fun shapes and experiment to see if the Jelly will come out OK.....I used some blue food colouring but it actually came out more green than blue.....

Carbon

Here is Carbon.....which is actually a double spread with Nitrogen but I haven't quite finished Nitrogen yet. It was all Dyan Reavely inspired as I was watching a video demo of her ghosting technique.......and now I've gone all ink and stencil crazy hehehehe!!

Also used a couple of Tim Holtz stamps and a splurge of paint around and about......

Boron

And here is Boron......a big spiral of oil pastels.....and then some areas painted white so I could write on them......

Beryllium

Here's Beryllium.......this is pastels and then some oil pastels at the bottom.....and I made use of some new stamps........excellent danger, toxic etc. from Crafty Individuals and some Tim Holtz stamps - that's the brickwork.....

New things....

We went to the craft show at Kettering the other week, which means new goodies!! Here is a card I made......using a Paper Artsy stamp on a painted background - using Paper Artsy paints which I really like and will have to get some more of! I highlighted a few areas with distress inks.....then just made an inky background on the card....and I think I used metallic glaze too which is actually more silvery than it looks in the photo. Then embellished with a greeting and flower......

I'm working on something else too but I can't post it just in case prying eyes should see hehe!! Actually I've got a few things like that at the moment......

And I've done the next few pages of my elements.....but I just need to finish off Nitrogen and then I will have to post them......

Some more cards....

Here are some cards I have made....

The top one I just used some pastels to draw in the background, and painted the number one and cut out the elephants and stuck on the greeting.
The next one I drew the little crab, not sure what a crab has to do with Christmas but I thought it turned out OK and I kept to the sea theme with the starfish.
The last one I was pretty pleased with the background I creates using some gloss mod podge through some sequin waste and once it had dried going over the top with the distress inks picked raspberry and I think there is some dusty concord in there too. The I stamped on the stars which was the free cover stamp with Craft Stamper this month and then I sort of splodged on some gold perfect pearls. I decorated the snowflake with pink glue and glitter and then stuck a greeting in the middle.

Monday 24 September 2012

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

Here is my first foray into waxed kraft paper.....I dyed it with alcohol ink and then die cut some shapes......the letters were plain chipboard that I coloured with distress ink and glitter......then the background is sanded C'oredinations and I used an Edgability to die cut the edge of the card

Sunday 16 September 2012

And finally this evening....

Here was quite a simple card I made.......but quite effective I think......I used an embossing folder on Core'dinations card and then coloured in the rays using oil pastels......because I forgot all about them and then I saw them being used in Craft Stamper and thought oh yes oil pastels......then I used a little bit of glitter.....went round the edge with barn door and then stuck on a Craftwork cards sentiment.....

Get Well Soon

Here was a get well soon card I made for my dad........I brayed the background although in the end I kind of ended up going over the top of it really......I used a craft nib to colour in using distress ink and the stamps are hobby art mostly and I think the birds a Tim Holtz and the one that looks like a postage stamp was the free stamp with this month's Craft Stamper magazine........

Lithium

Blimey it's taken me this long to realise I can give my posts a title.....even though I read so many other blogs with post titles that I don't know why I've never thought before.......anyway here is my Lithium page......mostly mustard seed distress ink background and then some gold metallic paint, a few stamps here and there although I don't think you can see them on the picture......oh and I found a little spiral that I used as   a mask and went over the top with gesso

Saturday 8 September 2012

I absolutely love learning stuff......and I love creating stuff so I am mixing the two......here are a couple of pages I've made about Hydrogen and Helium.......and hopefully the theme will continue.....although I'm always easily distracted by about a billion others things so who knows.........

The background on Hydrogen is pastel and then I printed and cut out Henry Cavendish and coloured him a little with Promarkers and then wrote on the facts with some pens I had years ago and the yellow symbol was cut out from an old periodic table that we had on the wall but kept falling off and basically that was what inspired the idea in the first place.......and the brown specks are a stamp

Then the other page is a background of distress stains and distress ink and then purple Dylusions.....I can't wait to get some more Dylusions inks as I've only got purple at the moment and I love how messy they are......then I wrote on the facts and I went over the top of the cut out symbol with sparkle mod podge and then I stamped some lids etc with black gesso then I dulled that back down by going over the top with yellow pastel.....and I coloured in the big helium letters with silver Promarker.......

I got a new Cricut cartridge Winter Frolic and this is the first card I've made using it.....I've cut out loads of shapes to use but just got to get round to using them......anyway I just distress inked the background snowflake paper and then stuck down the greeting and little robin in a blue and silver theme......
Here is a 21st birthday card I made......the little fish are part of an Inkidinkadoo set.......and I drew the 21 and coloured it in with markers and put some clear stuff to make to bubbles 3d; and stamped round the edge with a lid dipped in paint.....and the background was some paper that I gessoed over but I put a bit too much as you can't really see the paper any more but never mind still looked OK......

Sunday 26 August 2012

It's candy time over at the craft barn ....woooooooooo!!

Not very good at setting up links so I've posted the URL above and I hope that works!

Saturday 18 August 2012

Oh and then one more thing which is really cool........I actually got some blueberries out of the garden .....no way I never thought I'd get any berries let alone ripe ones.....there might only be a few but I was really pleased!!
Here is a wedding card I made for my cousins wedding......I think it was distress strains in the background and some gesso and a spritz of purple dylusions.....then I cut out the flower using grunge paper and a spellbinder die and coloured it with distress ink and I drew the little stick people, die cut that also and lightly went over with spun sugar distress ink I think it was.... then I stamped on the congratulations which is from a Paper Artsy set and I used Staz On and glued down some ribbon and sprinkled some glitter on whilst the glue was still wet.
This was a birthday card for my dad......pastels in the background and then mostly Hobby Art scene its which I love.....and a bit of paint and micro beads around the edge of the card...

Here are a couple of photos from our Olympics party......which was ace! I made loads of cakes and a cheesecake too! And my sister and my mom did....although I haven't got a photo of my mom's cakes d'oh! We watched the Olympics on a big screen in my sisters garage which was even acer!!! woohoo
