Marriage and age

Gooooooooooooood Evening!

Here is my page for the latest Craft Barn challenge this time the words are marriage or age. Well I thought there must be a good rhyme about marriage but I searched for ages and couldn't find anything I liked, until eventually I found the poem The Chaos by Charivarius aka Gerard Nolst Trenite which is all about the nuances of the pronunciation in the English language - which is perfect because I'm always on about stuff like that and it contained both marriage and age!

To create my page I used a background of distress stains, then I printed off the poem and distress stained that as well and folded it a bit and stuck it down so that you can just see a portion of it. Then I used black soot distress ink through a stencil, then I used a fluorescent pink gel pen to write the words, title and also used that a little through the same stencil. Finally I covered most of the page with Paper Artsy metallic glaze.

  1. You have interpretated both the chaos of words & colour brilliantly. Thanks for the link to the poem, it was good to see the words in context:-) xxx

  3. I'm always making fun of the Queen's English because I live in the States. I love the words to this poem and I am SO impressed that you found something that included both words. And of course, I had a good laugh, too.

  5. Visiting from The Craft Barn..This quote always makes me smile, and I agree with scrapmate that English must be very difficult to learn.
